Fittings: straight lines
The design trends for the 2008/2009 Turkish furniture season will be laid down at Istanbul. Visitors can expect to be impressed with the product lines of fittings manufacturers for drawers, drawer systems, shutters and doors which are based on technically proven solutions and supplied in top design quality. For a long time now, suppliers have not had to “bang on” about their products, now that air glide runners, soft and quiet dampening for closing mechanisms plus self-closing functions take care of all that! Wear-free materials, hygienic coatings, space-saving built-in widths and flexible mechanisms for adjustment and variability are likewise supplied as standard across an extremely diverse range of applications.Manufacturers of decorative fittings currently favor high metallic gloss or the metal look, while an even greater visual impact can be achieved with handles and knobs designed in a mix of materials, for example, combining metal with striking wood and leather surface features. Straight lines in metal handles are as trendy as ever and are now joined by asymmetrical shapes.
