Outstanding start for the ZOW in Istanbul - 14,000 trade visitors attend the premiere
The ZOW in Istanbul, the suppliers’ show for the furniture and interior design industries (31 January - 3 February 2008) kicked of with a fantastic start. 180 exhibitors from Turkey, Germany, Italy and quite a number of other countries attracted over 14,000 trade visitors to the city on the Bosphorous. Most of the visitors, 75% in fact, came from Turkey, but numerous other visitors from Europe and the Middle East – especially Syria and Iran and – also made the most of the opportunity to find out about the latest supplier innovations, together accounting for 25%.
“The visitor figures are exceptionally good for a premiere, and that gives us great encouragement for all future events in Istanbul,” said ZOW organizer Peter H. Meyer. The next ZOW will be from 1 - 4 October 2009 in the Istanbul Expo Center where the show occupied 10,000 m² of hall floorspace this year. The exhibitors at the first ZOW in Istanbul were highly satisfied with the organization of the show and were particularly pleased with the quality of the customer contacts. Invites to ZOW events are extended mainly to decision-makers in companies, so that deals can be concluded directly in-situ.
“We are delighted with the great response to the first event,” emphasized Süleyman Durdu, Exhibition Manager in Istanbul. For the Turkish market the ZOW concept was completely new and has been well received by suppliers, the furniture industry and the trade public. “The Turkish furniture associations supported us from the outset, which gave us a good position to start from,“ said Durdu. He is already looking forward to welcoming visitors to the next ZOW in October 2009, which will be staged in combination with the Z-mac, a new trade fair for furniture manufacturing and woodworking machinery.
