Furnitex premiere in Istanbul, 1-4 October 2009
Supplier show for seating and upholstered furniture in parallel to ZOW
Furnitex, the supplier show for the seating and upholstered furniture industry, makes its debut at the Istanbul Expo Center in autumn 2009, running in parallel with ZOW in Turkey. From 1-4 October 2009, Hall 3 will be full of suppliers’ latest products for the seating and upholstered furniture industry, including covering and printed fabrics, faux leather and microfibre materials, inlays and cushions, and padding and lining materials. ZOW will take place in hall 1, 2 and 4. Furnitex is being organised by Survey Fuarcilik Danişmanlik Ltd. ŞTİ., which is also the Turkish organiser of ZOW.
“We expect to welcome about 100 Turkish and international supplier companies for the seating and upholstered furniture industry to Istanbul’s first Furnitex,” says Survey boss Suleyman Durdu. Furnitex is mainly geared towards consumer-type goods but also showcases designer and trendsetting products. The promotional material circulated to potential visitors is specifically aimed at decision-makers in purchasing, design and product management. This generates useful leads and facilitates business deals at the event. Furnitex is primarily aimed at the Turkish seating and upholstered furniture industry, but also welcomes furniture manufacturers from the Middle East and UAE.
Furnitex is the Turkish equivalent to Furnifab, which has been successfully run in Poznań, Poland for several years by Survey Marketing + Consulting GmbH & Co. KG. This event quickly grew to become an annual trend showcase for the Polish market. “We expect to see a similar phenomenon with Furnitex in Istanbul,” says Durdu. In Turkey and the Middle East, demand for innovative supplier products for the Turkish seating and upholstered furniture industry is very high. Furnitex provides seating manufacturers and component suppliers in Turkey with a new platform for their products.
Furnitex is based on the ZOW workshop concept, which has become a synonym all over the world for effective trade fair organisation, a pleasant atmosphere and good business. Open, transparent stands of defined sizes, built with standard modules, invite visitors to come and discover exhibitors’ products and give even smaller companies the opportunity to make an impact. Forum areas with catering provide an opportunity for exhibitors and visitors to relax and talk on a more informal basis. Parking, admission and catering are free for visitors. Exhibitors book an all-inclusive package that includes all the necessary materials and services: stand area and exhibition modules, carpeting and ceiling, lighting and power, parking, security service and much more.
“Combining the new Furnitex with the ZOW supplier fair for the furniture industry and interior design is ideal,” says Durdu. Last year more than 14 000 visitors took the opportunity to find out about the latest supplier offerings for cupboards, cabinets and related products at the first ZOW in Turkey. By combining ZOW with Furnitex, Survey is now offering the Turkish furniture industry the complete spectrum of innovative supplier products for the furniture of tomorrow. And if that’s not enough, at the same time as ZOW and Furnitex, Halls 5-8 of the Istanbul Expo Center will play host to the first Z-TEC supplier fair for wood and furniture processing machinery. All in all, Istanbul is set to be a magnet to visitors from all over the world during the first few days of October.
