ZOW in Verona 2009: a high-quality international Event - Innovation and Design in the Furniture Components and Accessories Industries

Interesting business contacts and many issues of great relevance characterized the ninth edition of ZOW Italy – International Exhibition of Components and Accessories for the Furniture Industry and Interior Design, held in Verona from 21 to 24 October. The final statistics on the fourth day of the event showed 9,352 trade visitors (corresponding to approx. 12,000 entries), including as much as 2,783 foreign visitors from 81 different countries. For the first time, ZOW visitor registration procedures were conducted according to FKM/AUMA certification standards (FKM: Society for Voluntary Control of Fair and Exhibition Statistics in Berlin, www.fkm.de). With over 250 attractive exhibitors on show the ZOW has again confirmed its high quality, presenting trend-setting innovations for the furniture and interior design industries.

The organizers as well as many of the participants expressed their satisfaction with the good results obtained, with the positive atmosphere in the ZOW halls during all show days and the advantages of the modern and spacious location Veronafiere. The exhibitors were especially pleased with the quality of visitors, confirmed by a significant presence of qualified professionals and complemented by new target groups such as architects, interior designers or companies specialising in interior fittings. "We wish to thank all the exhibitors for believing in the event and for having supported and invested in the promotion of ZOW in Verona," say the organizers Survey Marketing + Consulting.

Design, Materials and Technology in Focus

As always, ZOW in Italy was devoted primarily to innovations in the field of subcontracting, but this year it also provided its visitors with highly interesting features such as exciting special shows on the industry’s latest highlights and interesting expert presentations on topical questions. Design, materials, innovation and technology – these main issues characterized this year's edition of ZOW in Verona:

The Architectural Lounge ("a-lounge") in hall 11 offered an inspiring program of selected products, special events and technical conferences, all in collaboration with excellent partners. The platform also hosted the exhibition of the winning products of the M Technology Award 2009, a competition created in collaboration with the two most influential design associations: the Italian ADI (Associazione il Disegno Industriale – Delegazione Nord Est) and iF International Forum Design/Hanover. All winning products will be exclusively presented at subsequent international ZOW events; an online documentation of these products is available at any time on the websites www.zow.info and www.ifdesign.de.

Next to the “a-lounge”, the exhibition “Light Panel”, organized in collaboration with the German Association “igeL”, presented a creative exhibition on the theme of lightweight materials: igeL members and other companies showcased their latest solutions for "light" furniture – a trend set to revolutionize the design and furnishing world in the future.

In hall 10, the “MaterialZ” show on last generation materials, curated by Material Connexion Milan, invited the ZOW visitors to discover the fascinating world of innovative materials with all senses. Finally, the special exhibition RFID Factory, supported by RFID-Lab of Parma University and the Harting company, explained various possibilities to save time and money by using modern systems of product identification and process optimization.

ZOW 2009 once again confirmed its significant role as the business event and showcase of new trends for the furniture and interior fittings industries, as the organizers point out: "The positive result of this edition strengthens and reaffirms the centrality of Verona as a benchmark for the furniture, architecture and design industries. This surely encourages us to work even harder for the upcoming edition in 2010."

Next year the ZOW in Italy will be held from 13 to 16 October at the exhibition center Veronafiere.
