ZOW in Shenzhen from 19 to 22 March 2010
Perfect timing during the “busy” part of the trade fair season
Between 19 and 22 March 2010, the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Centre will play host to its second ZOW supplier fair for furniture industry and interior Design. ZOW in Shenzhen, organised by SURVEY Asia, will again run at the same time as the Shenzhen International Furniture Exhibition (SIFE), which attracts more than 60 000 visitors to the economic hub on the Pearl River delta each year. The third week in March is the “busy” part of the South Chinese trade fair season, as several furniture trade fairs take place at this time in the province of Guangdong. So ZOW’s timing couldn’t be any better.
ZOW is the ideal counterpart to SIFE, one of the few furniture trade fairs that also caters for the Chinese high-end furniture market. The event is organised by the Shenzhen Trade Furniture Association, which has always been synonymous with quality on the Chinese furniture market. Around 100 Chinese and international supplier companies will be present at next year’s ZOW in Shenzhen, where they will showcase their latest products in surfaces and fittings, elements and systems, semi-finished products and materials, furniture fabrics and upholstery materials. ZOW attracted more than 8000 visitors to its launch in March 2009. “In 2010, we’re expecting at least 12,000 visitors,” says Bernd Rademacher, head of SURVEY Asia.
The international markets are picking up again, and China is no exception. The Asian Development Bank has forecast that the country will see its economic performance grow by 8.2 percentage points in 2009 and almost 9 percentage points in 2010. At a time when the markets are shaping up differently, it’s key to be in the right place at the right time. ZOW in Shenzhen is one of these places. It is the new supplier platform in Asia and the ideal place from which to make inroads into the Chinese market. Running in parallel with SIFE means that trade visitors from the furniture industry and interior design can catch up fully on new products and forge contacts, both within the sector and with other industries. 2010 will see SIFE and ZOW again play host to a number of relevant events, such as the South East Asia Domain, the Designers´ Dome, the China Square, Decostyle and Woodworking Machinery.
Shenzhen doesn’t just attract visitors for work-related activities, it delivers the goods in terms of tourism too. With countless shopping centres, restaurants and bars and a vibrant nightlife, it takes more than one visit to Shenzhen to discover all its secrets. The city’s proximity to Hong Kong and Macau may also be of interest to some visitors. While the sights and yet more shops of Hong Kong attract many visitors, the former Portuguese colony of Macau is a gamer’s paradise. Visitors wanting to try their luck can simply take the high-speed ferry and be there in around an hour.
