Kurz: Stepping up the pace in edge decoration
The stamping foil manufacturer Kurz is taking a new stamping foil quality to market, with which furniture- and panel edges can be coated faster. Kurz states, that the new product from the Touchwood line provides for a clear increase in decoration speed. The edge-coating machinery available can thereby be used without any modifications. This increase in speed can be achieved without requiring any invest-ments, merely by switching to this new foil.
High-speed edge decoration with Touchwood is already a standard procedure in the floorboard sector. Speeds of up to 100 m/min are attained here. Kurz has utilized its know-how and experience in this domain to develop an extra-fast Touchwood foil for the furniture and panel industries, which can be applied at extraordinary finishing speeds.
To which extent the decoration speed can be increased in the individual case de-pends on various factors. These include the profile geometry and the milling quality of the furniture part, as well as the manufacturing conditions available at the facili-ties of the respective manufacturer. Kurz therefore recommends that all customers perform tests with the new foil to determine which amount of time can be saved in the individual case by switching to this foil.
Uniform design for surface and edge
The Touchwood stamping foil, which Kurz also describes as a dry varnish on the roll, can be adapted exactly to match the surface design of the furniture parts. The color, the design and texture of the surface can virtually be adopted at a one-to-one ratio, so that a visually homogeneous appearance is attained. This compounded design can now be achieved even faster with the new Touchwood quality. The new Touchwood product can be manufactured in a wide variety of customer designs.
