Bad Salzuflen: The place to be!
ZOW 2010 will bring together the furniture industry

The European economy is again gathering momentum and ZOW in Bad Salzuflen is a key showcase for this. More than 650 companies from the international supplier industry will use this opportunity to tap into the markets of Germany and Central Europe. Between 8 and 11 February 2010, they’ll be expecting audiences from the furniture industry and interior design, architecture and design.

But suppliers won’t just be providing their visitors with the season’s product highlights; first-class service also comes as standard. After all, ZOW exhibitors are those who want to use their commitment to make possible the one thing that makes ZOW stand out from other trade fairs: a creative concept that focuses on the people.

Visitors are treated like royalty at ZOW. Everything revolves around encouraging communication between exhibitors and visitors and creating a pleasant trade fair environment in which to do good and enjoyable business. In addition to the trade fair stands, the catered forums, which provide drinks and snacks throughout the day, are the ideal place to hold meetings. All catering at the forums is free for visitors, as is parking and admission to the trade fair halls. There are around 7 000 parking spaces available around the trade fair centre, which are served by shuttle buses throughout the day. There are also several shuttle services each day to the trade fair centre from Hanover and Paderborn airports, Bielefeld central station and the various hotels.

ZOW visitors can expect an exciting line-up of innovations in 2010 – after all, the creative force of the sector isn’t letting up. Despite, or perhaps because of, the economic crisis, there’s been a lot of new products come out of companies’ development departments. Lively surface structures and fine shades of grey are the trendsetters among household furniture designs. Integrated attenuation is the key word for fittings. The trend amongst lighting is for small products with high lighting levels, appealing light colours and low heat radiation.

In addition to visitors from the furniture industry and interior design, including those from trade fair construction and retail design, ZOW has catered increasingly for architects, interior designers and designers since 2007. Commercial property is becoming increasingly interesting for companies in the supplier industry, giving rise to new, lucrative sales prospects, which require systematic processing. Around 2 000 architects made the journey to Bad Salzuflen in 2009, a number which will most likely be just as high in 2010. The Architectural Lounge will house an attractive forum with an exclusive specialist programme, on which Survey is collaborating with selected partners from architecture and design.

ZOW is first and foremost the showcase for new products for the sector, but is also a forum for interesting topics of the future. In 2010, these topics will come together in one trade fair hall for the first time. Hall 23.1 will turn into a forum for material and design competence with the Architectural Lounge, which will focus on universal design, a lightweight construction presentation by and with the association igeL, the presentation of the winners of the M Technology Award 2009 and the material show MaterialZ. Hall 20 will also house a presentation on the topic of supply chain management and RFID in collaboration with abaco Informationsysteme.

ZOW exhibitors and visitors, many of whom are architects and designers, stand to benefit equally from this informative offer, as it's here that the foundations are laid for the business of tomorrow.
