ZOW in Moscow to run Furniture Production Line: Supplier Event parallel to Mebel - November 23-26, 2006
ZOW in Moscow, held at the All-Russian Exhibition Center (VVC, Pav. 57) on November 23-26 2006, is the supplier platform for the Russian furniture market. For the first time the show is running parallel to Mebel (shuttle service provided). Product innovations on ZOW will include materials, surfaces, fittings, semi-finished products and components. The organizers, Survey Marketing + Consulting and Restec Exhibition Company, have come up with a range of irresistible attractions for this unique business event.
The highlight of ZOW 2006 will be an authentic working furniture production line with a space of 100 sqm provided by Imos AG, together with the Homag Group, Egger and Hettich International. Continuous production of children’s furniture runs from 9 to 6 during all ZOW show days. At the end of the show the items produced will be donated to appropriate institutions. The organizers expect that the demonstration will enable Russian furniture producers to experience "live" a high tech range to full European specification. Based on Imos’ innovative software solutions, the range operates under the name of “Work Cell Center" and demonstrates how various production cells intermesh within the furniture production process, using for example panel saw, edge processing and CNC router elements.
However, the “Work Cell Center" won’t be the only attraction to bring the industry flocking to Moscow this November. Also in Pav. 57 for the first time will be the Tekhnodrev, the International Specialized Exhibition for Technologies, Equipement and Tools for the Furniture and Woodworking Industry, in cooperation with Nürnberg Global Fairs. On display will be both small and medium range machines – all laid out to high tech specification. So this year, with the ZOW, Tekhnodrev and “Work Cell Center” line-up, the organizers are delighted to offer visitors a complete value chain – from individual furniture and wood-working machinery through new supplier products to finished furniture production. Service par excellence.
Rounding off the events program is the MIFIC Furniture Congress at the President Hotel in the city centre of Moscow. In Russia these events carry a great deal of prestige and attract a wide range of representatives from right across the political, economic and organizational spectrum. The Congress offers an extensive program of business events and presentations on all show days. Matchmaking is an appointments service which arranges meetings to bring interested parties together on a b2b basis prior to the show, while Club Sessions involving representatives of Teckhnodrev and Fidexpo, one of the most well-known trade fairs of interior design in Russia, provide a further meeting point opportunity.Topics for presentations include: international competition strategies; investment climate and the legal position; commercial and trademark policy; software architecture; design trends in the furniture and interior design industry, and much more.
“New Materials” Design Competition
Also at the MIFIC, the results will be announced of the "New Materials” design competition, held in cooperation with the Russian Designers’ Union of Moscow. During the course of ZOW, students from Russian universities and colleges of design will display their design concepts at the show which use new materials from the internationally renowned materials library, Material Connexion. The winner will be rewarded with a week-long work experience program at an international furniture supplier, as well as a trip to ZOW in Germany, Italy, Spain or China.
