Fifth Furnifab - Furniture Fabric Show in Poznan: European Catchment Area extends still further
Still on course for growth, Furnifab - Furniture Fabric Show continues to achieve greater significance at the European level for the seating and upholstered furniture industry. After the move to a larger hall on-site at the Poznan International Exhibition Center in Poland, more than one hundred exhibitors from 13 countries displayed their latest trends in coverings and leather at this fifth show of its kind. On March 27-29, 2,500 international trade visitors utilized Furnifab 2007 as an information and business platform.
Show organizer, Survey Marketing + Consulting Sp. z o.o. (Poznan), drew a positive balance from Furnifab 2007: "Since its premiere in 2003, Furnifab has focused on the attractive volume business in coverings and leather. Now it's well on the way to becoming a lead event in the seating and upholstered furniture industry for this supplier segment, not only for Central and Eastern Europe but for the whole of the European market," maintains CEO Peter H.Meyer.
More Italian Exhibitors
102 exhibitors (previous year: 100) from 13 countries attended March
27-29 to present their supply innovations in product groups covering materials, elements and systems, semi-finished components, upholstery and coated materials, fabrics and leather and industry-related services. As well as the 41 Polish participating companies, 17 Italian,
13 Spanish and eight German exhibitors were represented, while others came from Belgium, Denmark, Great Britain, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Portugal, Slovenia, the Czech Republic and Turkey. The Italian exhibitors were able to add to their contingent significantly this year with a 30 percent increase.
Show organizer, Survey, announced an increase in space sold of
25 percent. The area of 5,000 m2 of exhibition space was fully booked, providing clear evidence of the increased interest of the industry in Furnifab. According to Survey, after Furnifab the majority of all exhibitors declared themselves to be satisfied with the organization and their own show results. The noticeable increase in visitor numbers was also pleasing: across the three show days, 2,500 trade visitors (previous year: 2,000) from more than 30 countries filled the exhibition hall in Poznan.
Furnifab's target group is predominantly made up of decision-makers in purchasing, design and product management. The show now attracts visitors from Poland, the Baltic States, Russia, Germany, the Benelux countries and Southern Europe. For the first time, trade visitors at Furnifab were able to use an online registration service to receive their complimentary admission tickets by mail prior to the show.
Top new Textiles at Trend Forum 2007
The "Trend Forum" initiative, which was successfully launched in 2006, was continued at Furnifab 2007, with the process once again led by top designer, Dr. Marek Borowinski, of the Polish design studio, D.A.B. Borowinski in Lodz. In the run-up to the show, he developed a palette of the latest trends and colors for use by participating companies. What businesses made of the four trend themes, "Scent of Tradition", "Classics", "Neo-baroque" and "Color design", was experienced by trade visitors and press in the central Trend Forum event space.
Furnifab 2008: joining Forces with Furnica and Drema
The next Furnifab in Poland will take place once again at the Poznan International Fair April 1-4, 2008, together with Furnica, the new Polish furniture suppliers' show, and Drema, the wood processing industry show. This triple bill at the Poznan venue comes just ahead of Meble, the furniture manufacturers' show, and will cover the entire range of components from cabinet and seating furniture through to production technology and therefore represent the most significant meeting-point for suppliers throughout the extended region of Central Europe. Iwona Cerba, Furnifab boss based in Poznan, is confident: "This constellation of events will beam its light far beyond the Polish market and its neighbors. That's why we're looking forward to an industry platform which offers even greater efficiency and increased quality standards, together with higher visitor numbers from across the whole of Europe."
